Jonathan Alburger has served on the Board of Summer Solstice since 2002, and he has been involved with Solstice as a volunteer since 1985. Jonathan has lived in Santa Barbara since the mid-70s and is currently the general manager of The Flag Factory - Main Street Banner in Carpinteria. Besides Solstice, travel and theatre are his passions.
Dennis Johns graduated from UCSB in 1973 with a triple major and earned his MBA from CSUN in 1999. Currently retired, he was a marketing professional for 30 years, most recently with Yardi Systems. He is an active participant in the community and serves on the Boards of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise, the Santa Barbara Sail & Power Squadron, Our Mesa Neighborhood, Inc., and most recently the Summer Solstice Celebration. Besides Solstice, he is passionate about travel and sailing.
Mary Price has lived in Santa Barbara since 2003. An artist who works in mixed media and assemblage, Mary is active in Santa Barbara’s arts community, and frequently curates exhibits for local artists. She was an art director at Art From Scrap and served for three years as Board President for the Friends of the Visual Arts and Design Academy at Santa Barbara High School. She has been an artist-in-residence at Solstice on and off for ten years. She joined the Solstice Board two years ago. Besides Solstice, she is passionate about art, film, music, and literature.
Mark Sargent earned his art degree from UCSB and has been part of Santa Barbara’s arts community for many years. He was one of the original participants in the parade, which started as a birthday celebration for his friend, the legendary artist and mime Michael Gonzales. He once served as creative director and the giant puppets he created were a parade highlight for many years. Besides helping draft the original Solstice Board’s bylaws, Mark has provided our organization with an essential link to the past as well as a guiding vision for the future. Mark currently runs his own landscape design firm, Garden Designs, in Montecito. Besides Solstice, his passions are horticulture, painting and theatre.
Stacie Bouffard is an artist and interior designer. After earning a degree in Organizational Behavior at the University of San Francisco, she pursued a career in the high tech industry in the Silicon Valley in programming and product management. Since her move to Santa Barbara 18 years ago, Stacie has indulged her passion for visual art and design. She exhibits her assemblage, collage and abstract paintings in numerous shows and juried group exhibitions in Santa Barbara. A regular Solstice artist-in-residence Stacie has served as Solstice Board President for the past ten years. She currently works as an independent interior designer and project manager.
David Hefferman is a senior account executive at KEYT 3 ABC, Fox 11 KKFX, and keyt.com. Recruited by executive director emeritus Claudia Bratton, David has served on the board for over nine years and is a highly enthusiastic "Pass the Hat" participant in each year’s parade. You may also recognize him as the Super Solstice Swag Salesman at the annual Pascucci’s Restaurant celebrity waiter fundraiser. David says, "I love Solstice for the tremendous sense of community and joy it brings to everyone each year".
Laura Knight is the owner of Pascucci’s Restaurant, a landmark in downtown Santa Barbara. Laura is an active supporter of various community organizations and is an influential member of the Downtown Organization. Her vision, guidance, connections, and support have been a huge asset over the many years she has served on our Board.
